Cable car technician
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
As a cable car technician, you are a true all-rounder—technical skills and business management knowledge are required here. As a cable car technician, you have the best prerequisites for becoming an operations manager or engineer.
Your tasks:
- Operating, servicing, and maintaining cable car systems
- Knowledge and information about the structure and function of the individual types of cable cars (gondola lifts, chair lifts, T-bar lifts) and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and create technical documents, circuit diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Basic knowledge of snowmaking, weather, and avalanche science and the ability to make the right decisions depending on the situation.
- Planning and maintaining slopes.
Electrical Engineer
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
The electrical engineering field is incredibly diverse, and the electrical engineering apprenticeship is just as varied. Among other things, you will be responsible for ensuring that all technical equipment and systems run smoothly.
Your tasks:
- Building, assembling, and commissioning electrical equipment, machines, and systems.
- Reading circuit diagrams, switch diagrams, and assembly plans.
- Building switch cabinets and performing measurements.
- Maintaining and repairing electrical systems.
- Measuring, laying, and connecting cables and wires.
- Converting machines and systems.
Motor vehicle technician
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
The tasks of a mechanic at the mountain railways are very varied and interesting. For example, you are responsible for ensuring that machines with over 500 hp function properly.
Your tasks:
- Performing inspection, assembly, and conversion work on snow groomers, skidoos, and motor vehicles.
- Applying mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement and testing procedures.
- Manual and machine metalworking (drilling, grinding, filing, etc.).
- Learning various welding techniques.
- Driving a PistenBully.
Gastronomy
Apprenticeship period: 3 years
The apprenticeships available at the mountain railways are as varied as the tasks in the catering industry. The following professions can be learned:
- Cook
- Pastry chef
- Restaurant specialist

- Additional specialist training in a partner company (hotel, bakery, etc.)
Retail salesperson
Apprenticeship period: 3 years
As a retail salesperson at the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis Bike Park, you will be the central point of contact for ensuring that everything runs smoothly at the bike park. In addition to advising customers, selling mountain railway tickets, and repairing bikes, you will also be jointly responsible for designing/setting up the sports shop and will have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas.
